Mattarella to Zelensky: "Italy's position remains firm, full support for Ukraine."

"Welcome to this palace: it is a great pleasure to meet you again to reaffirm our great friendship and Italy's full support for the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Ukraine." This was underlined by President Sergio Mattarella as he received Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the Quirinale.
The head of state expressed Italy's "deepest and most concrete support": "Our position is and remains absolutely firm, and I would like to express our admiration for the behavior of the Ukrainian people, which strengthens our conviction of full support and advocacy for your country."
Zelensky said: "We thank Italy for this opportunity, for our meeting, for the words of support for our territorial integrity, for the sovereignty of Ukraine, and for our people. First of all, I would like to thank all the Italian people and Prime Minister Meloni, as well as you, Mr. President, for firmly recognizing the good and that this war unleashed by Putin is a great evil. This visit is truly special."
